Camilla Engstrom (b.1989, Sweden) lives and works in New York. Her practice encompasses painting,
drawing and sculpture. Camilla Engstrom explores autobiographical issues and topics through humor,
bizarre realities, and figurative expression. Based on real life experiences, Engstrom uses her work as a
dairy and an outlet for processing events. In her work we meet Husa - a cartoon character Camilla
created in 2015. Husa is confident, gender-bending, amorphous character often found naked. Camilla's
work is influenced by popular culture, sitcoms and iconic female artists such as Yayoi Kusama and Marie-Louise Ekman.
Camilla Engstrom had her first solo show at Deli Gallery in 2016 and has her work been included in group exhibitions around the world.
